Michaël Goldberg
Producer
Michaël Goldberg and Boris Van Gils’ ethos could be summed up in the following sentence: Making audience driven auteur films, which are able to reach the mainstream market without compromise on quality and authorial intent.
With offices in Abidjan, Brussels, and Paris, and serving as line or executive producers, they have established trusted partnerships with leading international players
Michaël Goldberg and Boris Van Gils began collaborating in 2004 with Michael Blanco, directed by Stephan Streker and recently restored by the Royal Belgian Film Archive. Their work on Viva Riva! in 2011 (Berlinale, TIFF, MTV Best African Film) marked a turning point in their careers, followed by notable successes such as Les Rayures du Zèbre (2014), directed by Benoît Mariage, which topped the Belgian box office, and Stephan Streker’s internationally acclaimed Noces (TIFF, nominated for the César for Best Foreign Film in 2018).
More recently, they have supported emerging talents like Michiel Blanchart, producing his short film T’es morte Hélène, which was shortlisted for the 2022 Oscars, and his debut feature La nuit se traîne, which received critical acclaim, was sold internationally, and won 10 Magritte Awards in 2025.
